REGISTRATION
Q1: I don't feel comfortable submitting my credit card online to register.?
A1: Submitting your credit card online is a completely safe, risk-free process. Great American Group does not store the numbers, nor are the numbers transmitted to another computer. The program simply verifies that the numbers you've entered is a valid sequence of numbers. Your card will NEVER be charged.

INSPECTION
Q2: If I'm bidding online can I inspect the product? Where do I go?
A2: Great American Group encourages all buyers to inspect lots prior to bidding. If you are not able to do so, please note that everything is sold "as is - where is," "in place," and "with all faults, known and unknown." The address and times for inspection are posted online next to each auction.

BIDDING
Q3: What is a quantity lot bid?
A3: A quantity lot has more than one item in it. This means that your total price on the lot is BID times the QUANTITY. For instance, if a lot has (QTY 50) by the description and you are awarded the bid at $10, you will be charged $500 plus applicable buyer's premium then tax.

Q4: What do "Choice and Privilege" and "Run" mean?
A4: When multiple lots in sequence have the same or similar descriptions, the entire "run" of lots will be sold at one time for choice. The winning bidder will have the choice and privilege to select which lots they want to purchase. Buyers are charged the bid price for each lot they select. For instance, if you win the bid at $100 and you select 5 lots, you will be charged $500 plus applicable buyer's premium then tax.

Q5: What does "Grouping" mean?
A5: Grouping is when the auctioneer sells selected lots at the same time and the winning bidder MUST TAKE ALL OF THE LOTS OFFERED IN THE GROUP. Buyers are charged the bid price times the quantity in the group. For instance, if a run of 20 monitors is being sold and the auctioneer announces they are being grouped, and you win the bid at $10, then you will be charged $200 plus applicable buyer's premium then tax.

Q6: What does "For One Price" or "For One Money" mean?
A6: This means that the entire lot will go for the bid price, even if it is a quantity lot. For instance, if a lot of 20 monitors is being sold, and the auctioneer says it's for one money, then you will only be charged $10 plus applicable buyer's premium then tax.

Q7: How can I tell if I've won a bid online?
A7: The bid status bar will flash a notice showing the winning bid.

PAYMENT
Q8: My invoice is incorrect, what should I do?
A8: Please contact the office at (818) 884-3747 x 340 immediately. Please have your buyer number ready for reference.

Q9: What is the buyer's premium, and why is it 10% on site and 13% online?
A9: The buyer's premium is an industry-standard premium charged on all purchases. The premium helps to offset some of the costs associated with running an auction. Online bidders are charged an extra 3% to cover the costs associated with running the Webcast. Please note that any applicable taxes are calculated AFTER the buyer's premium.

Q10: Do I have to pay Sales Tax?
A10: Unless buyers can provide Satisfactory Proof of Exemption, they will be charged all applicable sales tax. Satisfactory Proof of Exemption includes VALID LOCAL RESELLER'S PERMITS, STATE-DRAFTED LETTERS OF EXEMPTION, and BILLS OF LADING showing that Buyer's purchases are being shipped out of state. Please note that any applicable taxes are calculated AFTER the buyer's premium.

Q11: Can I pay with my credit card?
A11: Great American Group does NOT accept credit cards for payment. Accepted forms of payment are cash, cashier's check, business check with bank letter of guarantee, and wire transfer.

Q12: What is the deadline for payment?
A12: Full payment must be received within 24 hours following the auction close. Please notify the office immediately at (818) 884-3747 x 340 if there may be a delay in the receipt of your payment.

Q13: What if I don't pay my invoice on time?
A13: Buyers who fail to comply with the Terms and Conditions of Sale will lose any right, title, or interest they may have acquired, and will forfeit all deposits. Auctioneer may hold Buyer liable for the total purchase price, and seek legal counsel for any losses or damages incurred.

PICK-UP/REMOVAL
Q14: Will Great American Group ship my purchases?
A14: Buyers are responsible for making shipping arrangements prior to the sale. Great American Group does not endorse any specific shipping company. Please note that you are responsible for arranging shipping within removal timeframes given by the auctioneer.

Q15: Can I pick my items up right after the auction ends?
A15: In order to ensure the security of assets, items are not available for pickup until the day following the sale, or as specified by the auctioneer.

Q16: What is the deadline for removal?
A16: Generally, equipment must be removed within 72 hours following the auction close. In many cases, additional time may be granted, with prior approval, for larger purchases or equipment that requires special rigging arrangements.

WEBCAST
Q17: What is Webcast?
A17: For auctions with real-time online bidding, which we call Webcast Bidding, you must register to bid live via the Internet. When you register, you will be assigned a paddle number, which will only work with the password that you create. On the day of the sale, there will be a link from our website to let you attend the auction via your PC. With our unique technology, there are no delays so you and the floor bidder have the same competitive advantage.

Q18: How does Webcast work?
A18: The Bidder's display provides the interface between the live auction and the remote bidder. The format of the bidder display and the available functions are the same for each auction. Figure 1 is an example of the Bidder Display. The display area is divided into seven areas:
1. Audio/Video (A/V) Window in the upper left of the screen
2. Lot Data in the middle on left of the screen
3. Lot Preview Area on the lower left of the screen
4. Bidder and status information
5. Bid functions in the upper right of the screen
6. Auctioneer's Messages
7. Special functions in the lower right of the screen

The following sections identify the content and controls available to the bidder for each of these areas.

1. Audio/Video Window
The audio/video window is used to display the picture for each of the lots as they are auctioned. The picture changes each time the Auction Administrator advances to another lot and remains in the window until the next lot is selected. If an image packet is "lost" during the transmission from the auction server to the bidder, you may see "page not found". The user should wait a few minutes to see if the image is automatically reset and a new full frame picture is displayed. If the condition persists, the connection speed may be too slow to effectively utilize the image area.

2. Lot Data
This area defines the Lot #, quantity of items in the lot if greater than 1, and the lot description.

3. Lot Preview
The preview area allows you to independently advance forward and backward through the lots to see images and descriptions of all items available for sale during the auction. This operates the same way that your Internet Browser works and should not be used while actively bidding.

4. Bidder Connection Information
Logged in as a bidder
This area identifies the paddle number used to log into the auction. If the PC loses the connection to the Internet, the system will automatically attempt to re-connect. If re-connection cannot be accomplished automatically, the user should close the "Bidder Display" by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner of the bidder display. This will re-generate the "Attend Auction" display. The user then clicks "Attend Auction" and the system will attempt to re-connect. If this does not work, the user should close all Internet windows and attempt to re-connect to the Internet via normal browser activation (e.g., clicking on the IE logo to activate Internet Explorer). If an Internet connection cannot be made, there is a problem with the user's Internet Service Provider.

Status
Identifies connection status ("Not Connected" or "Connected"). "Connected" status means that the user is connected to the auction and is able to perform bidding functions.

Currency
Identifies the currency for the auction ("USD" = US Dollars)

5. Bid Functions
The status area of this display defines the following:

Current High Bid
The last accepted bid from either an Internet bidder or a floor bidder.

High Bidder
The value of the last accepted bid.

Bid
Button A large button containing the value of the asking price above the last accepted bid.

Bid Status Bar
A status indicator for the user identifying current bid status, for example: Bid Now if the user is able to bid on the item (reference Lot Selection) Outbid if the user has been outbid by a floor or internet bidder Bid Accepted if the bid from this bidder was accepted by the auctioneer.

LOT SELECTION
When a bidder wants to bid on a specific Lot #, the user clicks on the square to the left of the Lot # in the window in the upper right of the display. This signifies to the Auctioneer that this bidder may bid on the lot. If this is a Choice and Privilege lot, the bidder should click on the box for each lot that they wish to purchase if they have the high bid for that Choice and Privilege group. If you select more than one box and are the winning bid, you will be awarded ALL of the lots that you bid on.

If that bidder wins the lot, additional lots can be selected when the Auction Administrator asks the bidder if they wish to purchase additional lots at the same price. If the bidder was the second highest, the Auction Administrator will offer Choice & Privilege to the bidder and they have the opportunity to select one, two, or "n" of the remaining items in the Choice & Privilege group. In some cases, the Auctioneer may offer the remaining items to any bidder at that price and the bidder again has the opportunity to select any of the remaining items for purchase.

6. Auctioneer's Messages
This message window displays messages from the Auction Administrator that may be related to the auction or to an individual Lot #. The message remains in the message window until the next Lot is activated for auctioning. When a message is sent from the Administrator, the words "Auctioneer's Message" will flash on/off for a short period of time to provide a cue to the bidder that a new message has been sent.

7. Special Functions
The special function buttons are located at the bottom of the display and include the, 'VIEW PURCHASES', 'END SESSION', and 'HELP' buttons. The function of these buttons is defined below.
HELP- clicking the 'HELP' button generates a web page with links to various functions that the user sees on the display or is able to activate by clicking a button on the display. The user selects a topic from the table of contents and is taken to that section of the HELP manual. Once the information has been read, the user returns to the 'link' page by clicking on the words 'return to table of contents'. The entire HELP Manual can be printed by clicking on the printer logo on the browser menu line.

VIEW PURCHASES- when the 'VIEW PURCHASES' button is clicked, the system generates a web page that identifies the credit information for this user and lists all purchases made up to the point in time the VIEW PURCHASES button is clicked. This function can be performed as many times as desired during the auction. When the user ends the on-line session, the system automatically generates this display. Clicking on the printer icon on the browser menu can print the web page. This web page is NOT to be considered an invoice from the auction company; it is for informational purposes only. To return to the bidder display, the user clicks on the 'X' in the upper right corner of the web page display. The user should take care to click on the 'X' for the web page and not the 'X' for the bidder display when multiple windows are active on the screen at the same time.

END SESSION- this will allow you to exit from bidding and have a Proforma invoice created. Use this to make sure that you have been awarded all of the lots that for which you were the winning bidder. If you have any questions, please contact the office. A sample invoice is displayed below:

NOTE: Please make sure that all Lots and Qtys are correctly reflected on this summary. If there are any discrepancies or if you have a valid local resale certificate and have questions, please contact our office immediately at (818) 884-3747 x 340.
